Pets are part of the family
A Dullstroom stay they can enjoy too
We love pets and have two dogs of our own, so we know that a weekend away is often better when they can come too. Our dogs love spending time in the garden, and we are happy to welcome dogs and cats to The Trout and Butterfly by prior arrangement. There are no breed restrictions. We simply ask guests to tell us how many pets will be travelling before the booking is confirmed, so Jackie or Steven can make sure the stay is suitable for everyone.

Space for the whole group
The Trout and Butterfly is booked as one entire private house for your group only. It accommodates up to 8 adults and 2 children, with shared living areas, a fireplace, a fully equipped self-catering kitchen, a braai and outdoor dining areas.
The garden is fully fenced, giving dogs room to enjoy the outdoors during your stay. Guests remain responsible for their pets at all times.
Set in central Dullstroom, the house is a practical base for a weekend shared by families, friends and their pets — explore The House for a full tour, or our Family Weekends guide for ideas.
Our approach
A simple, considerate pet policy
We do not charge a standard pet fee or pet deposit. As pet owners ourselves, we simply ask guests to care for the house with the same consideration they would show when travelling with their own animals. If exceptional cleaning is required after the stay, or if a pet causes damage, the guest responsible for the booking may be asked to cover the reasonable cost.
