The fireplace and underfloor heating are valuable during Dullstroom's colder weather, making the house a comfortable place to return to after a day outdoors.

The house accommodates a maximum of 8 adults plus 2 children.

There are four en-suite bathrooms, including two queen rooms and two twin rooms, plus a child-only sleeping option.

A digital pause

The house does not provide WiFi. Many guests use their own mobile data for WhatsApp, email and hotspots, and cellular reception is generally strong, although performance depends on the network and conditions.

For some groups, the absence of supplied WiFi is part of the appeal: more time around the table, outside or by the fire. Guests who need guaranteed connectivity for work should plan their own data solution before arrival.

Exclusive use for your group

You will not share the house with other guests and the bedrooms are not sold individually. This creates a more relaxed rhythm for group travel: meals happen when you choose, shared spaces remain private, and everyone can settle in without the formalities of a hotel stay.

The house is particularly well suited to family gatherings, weekends with friends who want to stay together rather than divide themselves across separate rooms or properties.

Dogs and cats may be accepted by prior arrangement. Please let Jackie or Steven know in advance so they can confirm suitability and explain the applicable house rules.

The Trout and Butterfly is located at 353 Piet Retief Street, Dullstroom, Mpumalanga. Some road signage may display 353 Ukhozi Drive, so guests should use the confirmed Piet Retief Street address for GPS navigation and follow the arrival instructions provided before check-in.

The central location makes the house a practical base for restaurants, shops and Dullstroom activities, while the property itself remains reserved for your group.
