Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions explain the basis on which The Trout and Butterfly offers accommodation. Reservations are completed through Airbnb or Booking.com and are also subject to the terms presented by the selected platform.

1. Property and booking basis
- The Trout and Butterfly is offered as one entire private self-catering house for a single group. This website provides information about the property and Dullstroom, and directs guests to Airbnb or Booking.com to complete their reservation.
- A reservation becomes binding once it is confirmed on the selected booking platform. Bookings made through Airbnb or Booking.com are also subject to the booking terms presented by that platform.
2. Rates and payment
- Current rates, availability and booking conditions are shown on the selected booking platform. Guests should review the full price and conditions displayed there before confirming a reservation.
- This website does not process accommodation payments. All payments are completed securely through Airbnb or Booking.com under that platform's payment terms.
3. Occupancy and children
- The maximum occupancy is 8 adults plus 2 children unless the owners approve a different arrangement in writing. The person making the booking is responsible for giving the correct number and ages of guests and for ensuring that the group follows these Terms and the House Rules.
4. Check-in, check-out and access
- Check-in is from 12:00 pm and check-out is by 10:00 am. Times may be flexible depending on other bookings; please confirm arrangements with the hosts before arrival.
- Access and key arrangements are shared with confirmed guests before the stay. Guests must not share access details with anyone outside the confirmed group.
5. Pets
- Dogs and cats are accepted only by prior arrangement with the hosts. Approval may depend on the number, size and needs of the animals.
6. Guest responsibilities
- Guests must use the property responsibly, respect neighbours, supervise children and pets, follow fire and braai instructions, and report damage or safety concerns promptly. The booking guest is responsible for the conduct of the full group.
7. Damage, loss and additional costs
- Guests may be charged for damage, breakages, excessive cleaning, missing items or other losses caused during the stay, subject to evidence, the booking platform's terms and applicable law. Any damage should be reported before departure.
8. Cancellation and changes
- Cancellations, date changes, no-shows and early departures are governed by the cancellation terms displayed and accepted on the selected booking platform. Please read our Cancellation Policy for more detail.
9. Liability
- Guests are responsible for their personal belongings and for their own activities during the stay. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable South African law.
